International Mediation Festival 2016 in Minsk

On May 12, 2016 there was the First International Festival of mediation: “Conflict resolution in modern conditions” in Minsk.

The International Festival of mediation was organized on the base of the Russian State University in Minsk with participation not only the Belarusian practicians and experts, but also with participation of foreign colleagues from Germany, Russia and the USA.

In the first half of the day there were presentations by experts and specialists in the field of mediation. One of them was Liliya Vlasova, founder of the Center for Mediation and Negotitations, practicing mediator, mediators trainer, the owner of award «Femida» in nomination «For contribution to the development of mediation». Together with her acted also certified mediator of the Court of Appeal, a member of the Academy of Family Mediators, associate professor of the Law Faculty of Campbell University and North Carolina State University (USA), Frank Laney, certified mediator, a member of the German Society of mediation in the sphere of economics (Germany) Roland Shilling and PhD in Sociology, Head of the Center of mediation, conflict resolution and prevention of extremism in Kazan Federal University, Chairman of the Board of intermediaries Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce (Russian) Oleg Mavrin.

After the speech of experts there was the presentation of the book “Family Financial Mediation”.

The second half of the day was devoted to practical mediation. Participants could take part in various master classes, one of which was carried out by a mediator, trainer of the Centre for Mediation and Negotitations Tatiana Belyaeva.

The festival came to the end with discussion of experience in working with the conflict in the OPEN SPACE format.
